How to Prepare for your medical appointment

Preparing for your medical appointment


Kindly read the guidelines ahead of your scheduled medical appointment at healthlane.

1. Do NOT eat or drink before your appointment.
Water is allowed but NO coffee, soft drink or alcohol for at least 8 to 10 hours before your appointment time.

2You will need to provide a urine sample
We recommend not to pass urine for up to 1 hour before the time of your appointment.

3. Take your medication
If you are currently taking any medication, ensure to take them as prescribed by your doctor with a sip of water.

4. Avoid wearing heavy dresses or jewelry
Avoid wearing weighty outfits, as this may give a false sense of your body composition parameters.

5. Avoid exercising before your consultation
Normally, we’d never tell you not to exercise, but strenuous activity before a medical exam can elevate your heart rate and increase your potassium levels.

6. Arrive on time
Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to give you ample time to rest before your parameters are collected. Any delay in arriving may cause further delays for your appointment as we operate strictly via appointments slots.
Contact us at least 4 hours in advance for any cancellations or rescheduling.

7. Come with Your Questions
We encourage you to write down your questions ahead of time as medical appointments tend to make some people nervous. But not to worry, your appointment will be held in a comfortable environment with the best attendants, so please come with the most vulnerable and embarrassing questions, there’s a good chance that you wont be the first with similar queries.
